Dr. Benjamin Holmes and I are thrilled to be hosting the 2026 National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy (NCPP) in the School of Music on the Texas Tech University campus in Lubbock, Texas from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday lunchtime, May 17-19, 2026. Registration is indeed open on the NCPP website (percussionpedagogy.org).
In terms of travel arrangements and accommodations, the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (LBB) is fifteen minutes from the campus area and the 2026 NCPP Host Hotels.
The LBB airport is a regional hub for Southwest Airlines flying directly to and from Austin, Dallas-Love Field, Las Vegas, and Denver many times daily as well as includes several flights a day from Denver and Houston-George Bush Intercontinental on United Airlines and Dallas-DFW and Phoenix on American Airlines.
Our 2026 NCPP Host Hotels are close to the Texas Tech University School of Music, which is located at 2624 18th Street with FREE parking available next to the School of Music (R11 parking lot) for the entire conference. We will do a shuttle pickup from the Overton Hotel to Texas Tech School of Music on Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:00 pm and back again on Sunday evening as well as on Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 am to campus and back again on Monday evening and Tuesday after lunch for those that don’t have vehicles.
